LUMENAI was founded by Hans Dijkstra, who combines over 40 years of experience in the lighting industry with modern technology. In 1982, he joined the family business, a Dutch lighting factory established by his grandfather in 1922. In 1993, together with his brother, he continued this leading company, specializing in architectural lighting.

Energy conservation has always been the common thread throughout his work, long before it became a societal theme. Complex technical challenges were transformed into practical, sustainable solutions that have proven their value over the years.

Besides his passion for wine, in which he successfully entrepreneures, Hans brings together his years of expertise in lighting technology with the latest developments in LED technology and artificial intelligence through LumenAI. This unique combination enables him to create efficient lighting systems that intelligently respond to user needs.
